Course Structure
The workshop will consist of six one-week sessions, focused on feedback and critique. At the beginning of each session, you will submit an original poem to the instructor for review and for group critique. There will be no lectures, reading assignments or exercises for this workshop, but we’ll give you plenty of tips and reminders along the way. Because you will be expected to submit your work at the beginning of each session, you should have at least three poems ready for submission prior to the class start date, and three more ready to submit at the appropriate time. (1.2 CEUs)

In this course you will:

  • Write and receive feedback on 6 poems, 25-30 lines each
  • Work with classmates in a small critique-group format to enhance your skills

Who should take this course:

  • Writers who are looking to refine their poetry with help from a Published Poet
  • Poets who have already written three poems (maximum length 25-30 lines) and are looking towards publication
  • Graduates of Fundamentals of Poetry or an equivalent course.  Graduates of Fundamentals of Poetry Writing will receive a $20 discount on the advanced workshop tuition; email us for details.
