Advanced Novel Writing Workshop

Continue working on your novel manuscript with help from a published novelist and the encouragement and feedback of your peers.

In this course you will:
  • Write and revise 200 pages of your novel manuscript
  • Provide critique and criticism on the writing of your peers

To get the most from the course you should:
  • Have completed Focus On The Novel or an equivalent course
  • Prepare your first 10,000-word submission AND a short synopsis of your novel (500 to 750 words maximum) prior to the class start date.

Graduates of WOW and WDS novel workshops will receive a $50 discount on the advanced workshop tuition; email us for details.

Course Structure:
The workshop will consist of five three-week sessions focused on writing and critiquing. At the beginning of each session, you will submit 10,000 words (approximately 40 manuscript pages) to the instructor for review and for group critique. There will be no lectures, reading assignments or exercises for this workshop, but we’ll give you plenty of tips and reminders along the way. Because you will be expected to submit your work at the beginning of each session, you should have your first 10,000-word submission AND a short synopsis of your novel (500 to 750 words maximum) prepared prior to the class start date.
